Smoke alarm compliance

We install linked photoelectric smoke alarms to meet Queensland requirements, covering each bedroom, the hallways and every storey. An inspection tells us which changes your home needs before we prepare a quote.

What we check and install

  • Interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms
  • Bedroom and hallway coverage
  • Alarms on each storey
  • Testing against Queensland requirements

Queensland requires all homes to have linked photoelectric smoke alarms by 1 January 2027. The requirement already applies to rental properties and homes offered for sale.

Alarms that are not linked to each other, older ionisation alarms and alarms more than ten years old need replacing, and each alarm must be hardwired or run on a sealed ten-year battery. We assess what is there and quote only the changes needed.

Foreshore is run by Darren and Cathy, with 15+ years of local experience. We work across the Sunshine Coast, including Caloundra, Nirimba, Golden Beach, Pelican Waters and surrounding suburbs.
